If your audiences would benefit from accessing your surveys in another language, we can facilitate this in a number of ways.
For Audience Finder users in Wales, please note that translation is part of our free service, as subsidised by the Arts Council of Wales, so the core Audience Finder questions and our list of premium questions are available in Welsh as standard, free of charge. The following article provides guidance for organisations who want to survey their audiences in a language other than English or Welsh.
Translation and survey creation by The Audience Agency
Approach: You can ask The Audience Agency to source translators and commission translations, before setting up your survey in an alternative language to English.
Costs per language:
Administration from £500 + VAT
Translation fees to translate survey instructions and questions at variable cost (usually £60 - £100 per 1000 words)
Set up of new survey version £250 + VAT
Translation fees to translate text responses back into English at variable cost (see above).
Survey creation by The Audience Agency
Approach: You can source your own translators and commission translations, before asking The Audience Agency to set up your survey in an alternative language to English. In choosing this method, you would also be responsible for translating any text responses back into English.
Costs per language:
Administration from £250 + VAT
Set up of new survey version £250 + VAT
Survey creation by commissioning organisation
Approach: If using paper surveys or e-surveys, the you can, using the core Audience Finder questions, design and create your own paper surveys or e-surveys (using google forms for example) from translations you have commissioned. The survey dataset can then be manually uploaded to your Audience Finder dashboard. In choosing this method, you would also be responsible for translating any text responses back into English.
Read our article on manual data uploads for costs and further information on this process.
